Buxton’s improvement in this year’s National League was checked somewhat at a wet and greasy Loomer Road.

Machine problems and falls saw the visitors reduced to 5 fit men by the end of the meeting with both Stefan Farnaby and Sean Phillips sidelined by medics the latter being the most serious as he picked up a shoulder injury. The Home side mastered the conditions better scoring solidly throughout the team from 1 – 7.

Star for the Hitmen once more was skipper and newly installed number one Liam Carr who turned in an 11 +1 point haul including a massive 6 point tactical ride in heat 11 where he went around the experienced home skipper Jon Armstrong. There were notable contributions from Tony Atkin with 9 and resurgent Ryan Blacklock who but for a fall in heat 7 would have bettered his 6 point score.
‘I struggled a little with set-ups tonight the track seemed to change throughout the meeting but I have to be happy with it overall’ said Carr.

Team Boss Jayne Moss saw some optimism for the future ‘The team is continuing to improve and there have been some pleasing aspects tonight Liam Tony Ryan and Adam have turned in good performances once more.’
National League newbie Adam Extance again showed what he might be capable of with flashes brilliance and was overall pleased ‘ I had a good night tonight I learned a lot happy with my points keep building and moving forward’
The Hitmen return to action with a KO cup tie on Sunday 29th June at Hi-edge (3.00)
