Buxton complete their National League programme with a visit to near neighbours the Stoke Potters this weekend in a double header beginning at 4.30 at Loomer Road.

The visitors will be without both number 1 Matt Williamson and skipper Tom Wooley in this crucial clash.

The afternoon should clarify the destination of the National League’s Wooden Spoon with all three of the participants in action. The Hitmen know what they have to do and a win will ensure they avoid the basement slot so they are in the best position at the moment. With Jason Pipe stepping down last week the team will be managed by Club Chairman Jayne Moss in the Potteries and she is acutely aware of the task ahead.

‘We are looking to continue our late season run of good form at Stoke on Saturday but know that it could be tough without Matt (Williamson) who suffered a broken ankle last weekend. Ben Hopwood is guesting for us and he's had plenty of track time at Loomer Road We are operating rider replacement for Tom who gets married on Saturday and will be looking to get off to a good start. We are battling with Stoke and the Isle of Wight and have three league points on Stoke and two on the Isle of Wight, it looks like being a close finish and it may go down to next weekend when the Island go to Mildenhall. We can go well at Stoke with the right attitude, but it is important that we get off to a good start.’
