BUXTON have a bumper speedway package with two meetings taking place on the same day starting firstly with the Hitmen against Birmingham with the meeting against Coventry taking place immediately after the Brummies’ meeting meaning 30-heats of action-packed racing, 3pm.

The Hitmen once again will use rider replacement for James Cockle while they welcome back Kieran Douglas who replaces Sam Woolley at reserve.

Birmingham have already won at Hi-Edge this season and will be looking for a similar result as they make their charge on the play-offs, but they have injury issues having lost skipper Tm Bacon, Callum Walker and Danyon Hume while James Shanes is unavailable. Birmingham boss Laurence Rogers has therefore booked Eastbourne’s Georgie Wood, Joe Lawlor of Belle Vue and Stoke rider and former Hitmen rider Max Clegg and with 15-year old Leon Flint taking over the captaincy he will also provide solid support for those three riders with rider replacement being used to cover for Walker. At reserve the Brummies’ have Sheldon Davies and Josh Embleton while they also name a number eight in Tom Spencer.

Hitmen skipper Tom Woolley said “As with most meetings this season they don’t get any easier and this one is going to be tough. Yes, they have injuries but they have brought in quality replacements that ride will around here, but we will go into the meeting and do our very best and see what we can get out of the meeting. We nearly gained victory over Belle Vue earlier in the season and you never know they may get complacent.”
