HITMEN v BIRMINGHAM - PREVIEW

Friday October 12, 2018
BUXTON take on Birmingham in the Travel Plus National League at Hi-Edge Raceway on Sunday afternoon, 3pm.

The Hitmen received some good news that Corban Pavitt is able to take his place in the side after crashing out of Sunday’s meeting against Stoke at Hi-Edge, The Hitmen have drafted in Richard Andrews as a guest for Connor Coles while it’s rider replacement to cover for James Cockle.

Birmingham have their injury issues this season and will use rider replacement to cover for Tom Bacon while Max Clegg who scored tow 18-point maximums against the Hitmen last Sunday for Stoke comes in as a guest for the injured Danyon Hume, former Hitmen Paul Burnett also takes a guest booking for the West Midlands outfit replacing injury victim Callum Walker while Leon Flint returns from injury. Taking over the captaincy is James Shanes who has been impressive for Birmingham since his signing with Sheldon Davies and Josh Embleton ride at reserve.

Buxton boss Josh Moss commented “Birmingham have had there fair share of injuries but have managed to make signings to replace them and in this case have been able to get some good guests which will make things difficult for us especially having a rider who romped to two maximums against us last week, but that aside we will give things our best shot, It’s great to see Corban Pavitt is okay to return after the nasty looking crash last week as he was in good form and Lewis (Whitmore) rode well last week and hopefully he has got some confidence from the meeting and can reproduce that form and Richard Andrews comes in for Connor and scored well for us when he guested the other week so we will most definitely be looking to get something from the meeting especially as we have nothing to lose.”
