HITMEN v EASTBOURNE - PREVIEW

Saturday October 27, 2018
BUXTON complete their 2018 campaign with the visit of newly crowned Travel Plus National League Champions Eastbourne Eagles in league action at Hi-Edge Raceway on Sunday afternoon, 3pm.

The Hitmen use rider replacement to cover for injury victim Connor Coles while Joe Lawlor comes in as a guest for James Cockle in an otherwise unchanged team that narrowly missed out on beating Birmingham last weekend.

The Eagles who are flying high after their title victory over Mildenhall in the Grand Final are led into action by Georgie Wood and he gets solid support from skipper Mark Baseby and Tom Brennan forming an extremely powerful heat-leader trio. They are supported by Jason Edwards and Ethan Spiller two youngsters with a bright future in the sport and who have had a steady first season with the Sussex outfit. Eastbourne are still to confirm who will take the number 6 race-jacket but Charley Powell takes the other reserve place and Powell is another rider who has had a steady season with the new league champions.

Team manager Joshua Moss commented “Eastbourne have not been crowned league champions for nothing they are an excellent side who work hard and are full of some talented youngsters, but this is speedway and who knows what can happen. Last week we pushed Birmingham all the way and narrowly lost out and we will be looking to do similar on Sunday and if we can get off to a good start you just never know what may happen.”
